We are a group of small animal practices in Chesterfield and Nottinghamshire, first established in 1986. We are passionate about animal care and our skilled team of veterinarians and vet nurses are dedicated to providing the highest quality care for your animals. Because we love animals and strive to provide excellent continuity of care, we are open six days a week and have access to 24-hour emergency care. For your added convenience, there’s free parking for clients at our surgeries.
Sally joined the Carrick team as practice manager after working in retail management for eight years. She lives at home with her three dogs – Fizz, a Sheltie, and Bella and Charlie who are both Westies. During her spare time Sally enjoys long country walks with her dogs and travelling with friends.
Karen started working for Carrick in August 2014. She came to us as she wanted a change in pace after running her own business “Dress the Dog”, where she made and wholesaled dog coats, beds and other items for several years. Prior to that Karen was a receptionist at the swim school for seven years. She enjoys everything about her job here as she sees it as a challenge and every day brings something new and exciting. Karen has three children who she adores. She also has a hamster, a fish and three crazy dogs. Outside work she likes to spend time with her family and dog walking. She also likes to sew and craft things.
Lindsay joined Carrick Veterinary Group in late 2018 and really enjoys her role. Before joining us she previously worked as a veterinary receptionist at a different practice for two years. Lindsay lives at home with her two sons, three dogs and a bearded dragon. In her spare time, Lindsay enjoys gardening, barking and going to the cinema.
Bridget joined Carrick Veterinary Group in 2016 as a part time receptionist. She has a beloved family dog and enjoys travelling and holidaying with her family.
Emily joined the Carrick team after previously working in hospitality. She grew up on a farm so is used to spending lots of time with animals and is loving being able to work around them every day! Emily has a keen interest in veterinary nursing and hopes to train and qualify in the future. She lives at home with her partner and four dogs – three Labradors and a Springer Spaniel – they all keep her very busy but in any spare time she enjoys photography and baking.
Kirstin joined the Carrick team in January 2018. She graduated from the University of Lincoln in 2013 with a degree in animal management and welfare, and is currently studying for her master’s degree. Kirstin is animal nutrition trained and is also a companion animal medicines advisor (SQP). She has a keen interest in cat and small animal welfare, and would one day love to train as a veterinary nurse. Away from work Kirstin loves to spend time with her two guinea pigs and two chinchillas.
Carol started work at the practice in September 2012; her previous job was as a special needs teaching assistant at a local primary school. She has two cats called Puddy and Pasha and works for St Johns Ambulance in her spare time.
Kerry joined the Carrick team in 2015 and works a dual role, doing some hours on reception and also as an animal nursing assistant. She loves the variety each job provides and the bond between human and animal never ceases to amaze her. Kerry has always been an animal lover, taking in many waifs and strays over the years and is thoroughly enjoying getting to know all the pets and owners. At home she has Whippet cross Greyhound called Talulah, a cat called Yowee and one Lionhead rabbit called Ruby. In her spare time she enjoys country walks, horse riding, reading and watching her daughter ride her BMX at the local skate park (or not as she usually has her hands covering her eyes). Kerry also enjoys yoga, practicing reiki and working with crystals.
Jade joined the Carrick team in 2018 and loves the variety of the job and the fact that every day is different. She has loved working with animals since she was young and enjoyed helping her grandad look after his racing pigeons. Previously, she lived in Vietnam for six months working at a primate conservation charity. At home Jade has a cat called Fluff and a Shih-Tzu called Sue.
